May Consumer Confidence Up



The Conference Board Consumer Confidence IndexTM, which had improved considerably in April, posted another large gain in May. The Index now stands at 54.9, up from 40.8 in April. The Consumer Confidence SurveyTM is based on a representative sample of 5,000 U.S. households.

Have we hit bottom yet

I interrupt this broadcast about our current economic apocalypse, for a brief scan of a few economic indicators.

Economists are starting to more widely predict that pent up demand will soon kick in. Because businesses have cut back and drained their inventories so low, they'll need to start ramping up production and purchasing fairly soon.
